Group 1. Eskson, Franchesca, Christine


Areas of usage and benefits:
  • Trip report for a distributed library organisation. Inconvience for library group to meet, sharing on a blog is easier.. Green agenda - saving of travel costs.
  • Providing access to other resources, sharing ideas and results.
  • Mentoring environment using a blog, blogs for trainees to get their thoughts down, allowing people to get their thoughts down. Easier to look at a time and place of your choosing.
  • Blog as a centralised resource pulling information together.
  • Simple in your blog style.


Group 2. Eddie, Bettie, Cor
Areas of usage:
  • Sharing within your own library. General knowledge sharing with the employees in your organisation. Creating teams to discuss topics. A way to compliment existing alerting mechanisms.
  • Blogging champions within an organisation.
Benefits:
  • Innovation for corporate librarians is very important, especially if it is part of the organisation's mission. Makes the innovation global, especially for multi-national companies.
  • Publicity for library, promoting the departments of the information profession.
  • A good way to interact with your users.

Group 3. Pernille, Sharon
Areas of usage and benefits:
  • Question and Answer services provided on blogs, leaving the user community to provide the answers.
  • Resource-building, building a knowledge base built on previously asked questions.
  • Lots of experts out there who can contribute content to your organisation, and this can be done using external freely available resources.
  • Gathering feedback, requirements for consultancy satisfied by using comments function.
